Meet Our Pastor
Pastor Antoyne L. Green
The Founder and Senior Pastor of New Life Church heard the call of God to establish a new Ministry in Athens, AL in December 1999. On June 4, 2000, the New Life Church held its first Worship Experience.
Pastor Green, affectionately known as Pastor ALG, was born and raised in Athens. He graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and worked as a news anchor at WCFT, WDBB, and WBRC Fox 6 in Birmingham. From 2001 to July 2003, he commuted 200 miles daily as a bi-vocational Pastor before assuming the pastorate full-time.
Pastor ALG is an accomplished author with four books to his credit. He travels the country preaching, teaching, and speaking at churches and organizations. The greatest joy of his life is his family — he’s married to the former Felicia Batts, and they have three children: Jasymnn, Kaleb, and Emani.

A Legacy of Faith Since 2000
God gave Pastor Antoyne Green the vision for a new Ministry in Athens-Limestone County in December 1999. On Sunday, June 4, 2000, the New Life Missionary Baptist Church held its first Worship Experience in the ballroom of the Days Inn Hotel in Athens, AL. Following that Worship, the New Life Church begin meeting in what's known in Athens as the L-Gray Building, located at 1609 South Hine Street.
The Church grew rapidly and God showed NLC favor when the Church was able to purchase five acres of land in December 2000, just six months after the initial service. In June 2004, Carpenters For Christ came to Athens and built the current facility at 2314 South Hine Street. More than 70 volunteers from all over the country converged on Athens for more than a week to bless New Life tremendously. Then on the first Sunday in November 2004, New Life marched into its newest facility.
Through it's history, NLC has seen significant growth numerically, financially, and certainly spiritually. Relevant ministries are continually added or reconstructed at NLC to help meet the needs of its members and the community. New Life Church is truly striving to live up to its Ministry Motto: "A Progressive Ministry In Progressive Times.
The New Life Church is a FAMILY of believers devoted to glorifying God by the lives we live according to His Word and by the lives we touch for His Kingdom. Our commitment to Kingdom witness, work, & worship are all based on the exaltation OF God, excellence BEFORE God, and confident expectation IN God. We live by faith and serve faithfully because great is God’s faithfulness toward us.
